Jacksonville Maritime MuseumThe Jacksonville Maritime Museum began in 1985 in hopes of demonstrating the impact of maritime trade in the community. The museum houses a collection of books, documents, artifacts and other objects significant to the General Maritime History of Jacksonville and Florida's First Coast.

The JMM has large scale replicas of ships like the Mayflower in their collection, as well as paintings and artifacts dating to 1562.

There are other replicas of ships at different locations like the Jacksonville Port Authority, Jacksonville University and Naval Station Mayport. The largest model that the JMM owns is the USS Louisville. At 17 feet in length and literally weighing a ton, this replica is considered to be a miniature.

The museum has permanent exhibits on the USS Saratoga and Napoleon B. Broward's Three Friends Tugboat. Past exhibits have included "St. Johns Riverboats," "Shipbuilding in Jacksonville" and a diorama of the RMS Titanic.
